Jasleen Kaur

I am Jasleen Kaur, a graduate student in the Agronomy, Horticulture, and Plant Science Department at South Dakota State University, Brookings. My research focuses on studying maize responses to beneficial mycorrhizal fungi, aiming to understand how these plant–fungal interactions enhance nutrient uptake, stress tolerance, and overall plant health. The broader goal of my work is to utilize these interactions to promote sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.

I completed my Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Biotechnology from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana (India), where I developed a strong foundation in plant biotechnology and molecular genetics. These experiences deepened my curiosity about plant–microbe symbiosis and its applications in improving crop productivity under changing environmental conditions.

At Sidhu Lab, I am excited to work in an interdisciplinary environment that combines plant science, biotechnology, and data-driven research to address real-world agricultural challenges. I look forward to contributing to ongoing projects and learning from diverse perspectives within the lab.
