Under Grad Student, Sidhu Lab
I am Nisha, a Civil Engineering undergraduate student at South Dakota State University with a strong interest in water supply and waste water management, infrastructure planning, and sustainable construction practices. I hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Manmohan Memorial Polytechnic, where I gained hands-on experience in surveying, project planning, and cost-effective road and housing design using tools such as AutoCAD, total station and Thedolite.
My academic projects have focused on practical and scalable solutions, from designing low-cost roadways to developing efficient structural layouts. These experiences have shaped my ability to approach challenges with creativity and technical precision.
I am proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel (including data analysis and pivot tables), and basic project management. I am also passionate about continuous learning—especially in the areas of technology, communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Currently, I am contributing to Sidhu Lab’s research operations through my involvement in Seed Technology and Greenhouse facilities, where I support experimental processes. Outside of work and academics, I enjoy traveling, learning about new cultures and languages, and exploring emerging technologies.
